2NE1 (Korean: 투 애니원; pronounced "to anyone" or "twenty-one") is a South Korean group created by YG Entertainment. First appearing in a Cyon commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Telecom, their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009.

Esmée Denters (born September 28, 1988 in Westervoort, The Netherlands) is a Dutch singer. She was a regular cover-artist on video-sharing website YouTube where she covered songs from Brandy, Mariah Carey, OneRepublic, Natasha Bedingfield, Beyoncé Knowles, SWV and Justin Timberlake, amongst others. In 2008, Timberlake himself discovered her talent and Denters signed up as the first artist under Timberlake's new label imprint Tennman in association with Interscope. Esmée added the official music video to the debut single "Outta Here" from her debut album of the same name, to her official YouTube page on 22 May 2009, and her second single "Admit It" on the 3rd September 2009. Both songs have received five star ratings by the YouTube community. She is currently on tour with the up and coming Pop group Honor Society , as their opening act.

The album has sold over two million copies in the United States and was certified double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
