David James Archuleta (born December 28, 1990) is an American pop singer-songwriter. At ten years old he won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition leading to other television singing appearances. When he was twelve years old, Archuleta became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2. In 2007, at sixteen years old, he became one of the youngest contestants on the seventh season of American Idol. In May 2008 he finished as the runner-up, receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes.

In August 2008 Archuleta released "Crush," the first single from his self-titled debut album. The album, released two months later, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart; as of June 2009, it had sold over 725,000 copies in the U.S. and over 900,000 Worldwide.

"Bad Romance" is a song by American pop singer Lady Gaga. It is the lead single from her second studio album, The Fame Monster. The track was produced by RedOne and was inspired by the love monster (paranoia) that she had faced while touring through the previous year. After the demo version of the song leaked, Gaga premiered the song at Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010 Paris Fashion Week show on October 6, 2009, followed by the release of the cover art. Composed in a similar tempo to her previous singles, "Bad Romance" features a sing-and-tell bridge and a full-mouthed chorus. The song talks about exploring the joys of a bad romance while referencing Alfred Hitchcock films in some of the verses.

Kenneth Brian "Babyface" Edmonds (born April 10, 1958), is an American R&B and pop singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, record producer, film producer, and entrepreneur.

Kenneth Edmonds was born on April 10, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Marvin and Barbara Edmonds. Barbara was a pharmaceutical plant manager. Edmonds, who is the fifth of six brothers (Kevon Edmonds also had a solo album), attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and as a shy youth, wrote songs to express his emotions.[citation needed] When he was in eighth grade, Edmonds's father died of lung cancer, leaving his mother to raise her sons alone. At this stage, Edmonds became determined to have a career in music.

He began his professional career on YouTube, where he was discovered by his future manager, Scooter Braun. Braun flew Bieber to Atlanta, Georgia to consult with Usher and soon signed a record deal with Island.

Craig Ashley David (born 5 May 1981) is an English R&B singer-songwriter. He has released four studio albums: Born To Do It, Slicker Than Your Average, The Story Goes..., Trust Me and a Greatest Hits album. The singer has sold over 13 million albums worldwide.

David was born in Southampton, the son of a half-Jewish white mother and a Grenadian father. His father George was a carpenter and also played bass in a reggae band called Ebony Rockers. As a teen, David began accompanying his father to local dance clubs, where DJs let him take the microphone.

Nickel Creek was an American acoustic music trio. Although the group's music has roots from bluegrass, the trio describes itself as "progressive acoustic". Nickel Creek consisted of three permanent members: Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (fiddle), and her brother Sean Watkins (guitar). The trio has always recorded and toured with a bass player, but no bass player has ever been an official member of the band. Chris's father Scott Thile played bass with the group until 2000, followed by Byron House, and Derek Jones. Mark Schatz has played bass regularly with the group since 2003. In interviews, the band has stressed that they are not a bluegrass band, but a band that "incorporates bluegrass into [its] music". Nickel Creek has covered songs by Weezer, Radiohead, Pavement, Coldplay, Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan, The White Stripes, the Jackson Five and Britney Spears.
